George Motz drives deep into the state of the burger, nationwide.
Early favorites - the tortilla burger from the Panrty Restaurant in
Santa Fe, NM - burger and beans wrapped in a flour tortilla, then
smothered in red chile and cheese.

And the heart attack deep fried greaseburger from Dyer's in Nashville
-
two patties smashed thin and wide, then deep fried in 100 year old
grease, why even the cheese gets a grease bath.

Wow.
It's just so wrong on so many levels that...must have...must
consume...-
I have been catching some of that action on TV. Hard to beat a good
burger. Now in God's Country the beans and hamburger meat rolled up in
a
flour tort would be called a burrito or taco maybe. Currently having
indigestion from a second attempt at eating a Smash Burger. Those
things
are highly over rated. Suspect they are dunkng the buns in canola oil
or
something. Makes them taste greasy and give the burps. Kindly mark
them
off the to do list. Thanks.-
I tend to agree with you on SBs. In fact they're not unlike a Five Guys
burger. If I want a mass market premium burger Red Robin is my choice.
I will say that Smashburger's rosemary, garlic and olive oil fries are
pretty tasty though.
I like the burgers and fries from Moo Yahs or Five guys better. Least
they dont give heartburn and taste pretty good. Whataburger is hard to
beat for a plain old burger. Texas Land and Cattle Co. has about the
best big fat steak house flame grilled 12 buck models. We also have an
fashioned Mom n Pop small thin meat hamburger stand type place called
Clown Burger..which can put folks in remembrance of their child hood.
Some of the Sports Pubs turn out a good burger too. Never tried Red
Robin but will put it on the agenda. Thanks.
Well I never heard of Mooyahs, but I'll put it in my travel plans for a
stop, thanks.
I'm with you on Whataburger, they're a step up from basic fast food.
TLAC is one place I've eaten at several times but not had the burger;
next time I might. They have a lot of other very good items on that menu
that I rarely make it past. The mesquite grilled quail (so delicate to
cook) are awesome and the shrimp too. Also their bone in ribeye is
darned good.
Can't say I have heard of Clown Burger, perhaps you can supply the punch
line ;-)

Its just an old timey mom n pop burger joint up in this part of the world. Has a cult following sorta..lol.
