Trust me sf. It is not a matter of the smoke detector being too
sensitive. I often smell the smoke long before the detector goes off.
The kitchen is a good place for a smoke detector because it is one of
the rooms in a house that is most likely to be the site of a fire. I had
to move ours away from the kitchen because it was going off way too often.
