The best spots are around the base or by the trunks of dead oak
trees. Here in Iowa, we find them after a very wet spell plus very
hot (unseasonable) weather. We may miss that this year, the weather
has been so odd. However, we are coming up on some good rainy days,
with temps supposed to be in high 70s and low 80s. That may be
enough, although this is late in the season for them.
