In 1960 the Chinese restaurant we patronized on Ave. P in Broooklyn
served a complete lobster cantonese dinner from soup to dessert for
$3. Back then lobster was very plentiful, wasn't considered anything
special... anywhere near the coast seafood was considered po' folk
fare, kids were embarrased to say they ate seafood for dinner...
they'd lie and say they ate anything but, chopped liver held a higher
ranking.
