A skillet works best if used on the side burner of a grill but, lacking
one, it can be used on the grill itself; however, I find it takes longer
to heat that way. You don't need a very hot skillet for cooking eggs, so
that should work fine. For stir frys there are perforated steel "woks"
and flat pans designed specifically for using on the grill surface. A
lot of interesting cooking can be done in those. All cast iron is
relatively inexpensive, but you don't need a more expensive one like the
Lodge brand. Try kitchen stores and the bbq sections of the big box
stores. You will need to season it with grease heated thoroughly, rubbed
on all surfaces, then maintained at a moderate heat for a while, then
wiped dry. Pre-seasoned cast iron is available but more expensive.
Whatever you buy, don't wash it in detergent or in the dishwasher.
Simply wipe it thoroughly with paper towels and salt, or rinse briefly
with plain water, then dry. After cleaning, heat again over low heat to
thoroughly dry. Rub on a think coating of grease before storing.
