Default Trader Joe's Smoked Oysters and Ghost Chilies

After a long absence, Trader Joe's Naturally Smoked
Oysters are back. They're just like they were before
they disappeared. They must have been gone for about
a year.

A new product is their Ghost Chilies, which comes as
flakes in a glass jar with a grinder top. Kinda
pricey at $4.99 for an 0.7 ounce bottle.

I've never had ghost chilies before. I shall now
proceed to try them live on RFC. The flakes don't
look that great -- thin and varying in color from
light reddish brown to a greenish beige. I bet the
dried chilies they come from aren't pretty. Chewing
up about 1/4 teaspoon hmmm . . . they're hot, yes.
Not much fruity flavor at all. Not enough heat to
match their reputation. The heat is fading away
fairly quickly. I definitely won't buy this product
again -- it's all about the heat and the reputation,
no particular chili pepper flavor. Not like Thais,
habaneros, and chipotles, each of which has its own
distinctive pepper flavor. This product won't last
for very long.
