Ours are on a grain free diet. They eat the Now! brand dry food but I am
searching for a moist food they will eat. When we got them from the
shelter, we were given a few cans of food and were told this is what they
ate. It was the Wellness brand and turkey flavor.

When we got them we were not expecting to take them home right away but as
luck would have it, they approved our adoption on the spot. Daughter and I
were going to go out to dinner and then the dance studio but instead we took
the two cats home and fed them. They did eat some of the food. I think the
next night they did eat some too but not very much.

I went back to the store where we got them but they didn't have the turkey
flavor. So I bought two cans each of every flavor they did sell. And they
wouldn't eat any of it. Just wouldn't touch it!

What I did determine is that they both seem to like tuna. But they have
pretty much stopped eating what they ate in the past except for maybe a
couple of bites of it. And they aren't eating much dry food either. I
tried some kind (can't remember the brand) that has tuna, peas, potatoes and
red peppers in it. They do eat some of that but again I am throwing most of
it out. It's frustrating because our old cat was not like that until she
got sick. She was picky as to the texture of the food, eating only the pate
type but then when she got sick she would eat only the chunky but really
only a few bites. Prior to that she always cleaned her plate. And she
would eat any flavor provided that it wasn't fish.

The daughter will eat a few bites of chicken from time to time but mom won't
touch it. I just don't know what to feed them. Most things they won't
touch at all. They'll just give me these astounded and confused looks as if
to say, "You're giving me that?" And then they walk away. Neither one
seems to be losing any weight though.

And they do love their treats. The get the treats in the kitchen and they
have special bowls for that. Every time I go in there they sniff at the
bowls. But they only get the treats at midnight. And apparently their
tummy clocks know when it is midnight. If they haven't gotten the treats
but 12:05, I hear about it! They will only eat tuna treats and only the
crunchy ones.
