You know, I wondered about that, too, she is a pioneer from where? As
it turns out, Oklahoma, which does not sound like an unsettled region,
but maybe it is.

They live on a huge ranch (farm), and you see footage of the children
and ranch hands on horseback, helping her husband load up cattle, or
somesuch. She earns quite a bit on that show, so I am sure her husband
can afford every newfangled ranch gadget that he wants. It is not a bad
show, you could probably find an episode or two online if you got bored.
