So they can target marketing information *directly* to you. Bear in mind
that they never require any ID for getting these cards, so just make up
any name, address and phone number you wish. Just make sure the phone
number is one that you'll remember easily, in case you ever forget your
card and want to be able to get the cardmember discounts.
