Just another question designed to bring some vague form of
outside activity into your lonely life. I'm sure in all your years
you've had a few sore throats and would by now know enough about what
foods are best for that. But let's skip the arguments - please stop
forcing me to argue! - and get on with the topic at hand - food for
when you're sick.
My approach to this has always been to eat as if I'm sick even
when I'm not sick. I eat healthy but tasty foods that many folks
don't turn to until they're sick. The upside to my method is that I
rarely get sick. The downside is that when I do get sick there's
nothing I can do about it food-wise.
It's like people gradually giving up bad habits so they can feel
better. They get out of breath easy, they quit smoking. They become
weak and frail, they take up exercise. Every bad habit they drop is
met with marked physical improvement. But it's always good to keep at
least one bad habit on tap. Because one day you're going to wake up
feeling like absolute crap and you're not going to have any bad habits
to give up anymore, and that's when you know you've reached the end of
the line.
Eat healthy - but not too healthy - or your body will get used to
being too healthy and when you get sick you won't be able to
rebound....................

I've had many sore throats over the years. And if I don't get rid of one
quickly (with Nasilide (nasal spray) and/or antihistamine) then it
invariably goes into a chest cold... I apparently did not get rid of this
one quickly. At least I have my stick blender to make soup. I watered down
the cauliflower soup I made yesterday for lunch and it was much better, not
as cauliflowery. First time I made it had too much water, so this time I
made with less and it kinda came out like mashed potato but mashed
cauliflower. But it is easier to add water than remove.
As always, thank you for your advice Dr Merde.
