I don't like to grate it either. I don't mind if it is a very good cheese
like Parmesano Reggiano. But that is also a hard cheese and it doesn't make
a mess of the grater. Cheddar and other softer cheeses can leave a mess on
the grater and it's not fun to clean. And then you have all those grate
marks on the end of your cheese.
