With various meals over the weekend:
2004 Ridge Lytton Springs
nose: pencil lead, brambly berries
palate: well structured with good acids, still quite primary
No hurry on this wine! We opened this up as a birth year wine for
Andrew on his 8th birthday.
2008 Pinon Vouvray Tradition
nose: quince and green apple, slightly honeyed
palate: off-dry, balanced acidity
Less racy than it was a year ago, but still lovely.
2011 Dr. Loosen "Dr. L" Riesling QbA
nose: peach, petrol
palate: on the sweetish side of off-dry, just enough acid
A bit simple (no surprise) but a pleasant quaffer.
