Default Lupini beans.

Anyone here try them? I had a pleasant surprise last week. Bought two
packs of olives imported from France from Winco. I opened and ate the mixed
olives and in there were three beans! I didn't know what they were but they
were yummy.

Long story short, I finally took the package from the trash to look. They
were Lupini beans! I bought more of the olives today and one package is
loaded with the beans.

Meanwhile I have been on a quest to buy just the beans. From what I have
read online it is a long, laborious process to get them to be edible. They
come from the Lupine plant. But you can also get them in a jar like pickles
or olives. We looked and looked and finally Angela found them today at
Central Market. I bought two jars and did a little dance in the aisle.

I think these will make a great snack and they are very salty so probably
not something you'd eat a lot of at once. I have read that you can rinse
them if you think they are too salty. You're supposed to eat them out of
the tough shell then spit the shell out. I did not know this and ate the
whole thing. But apparently you can eat the whole thing too.
