The subject of distillation comes up for conversation in the winemaking,
meadmaking, and brewing newsgroups, due to the nature of discussion in those
newsgroups (producing alcohol for consumption). Many people think it is
appropriate to ask questions or discuss distillation in these newsgroups --
if you don't believe me, search for "distillation" in the above newsgroups.
:-) Because these people don't know where else to go, and since this r.c.d
is relatively new, many people don't know that this newsgroup exists.
Therefore, the main purpopse of this infrequent FAQ posting is so that
people are aware of r.c.d, and that if they have questions about
distillation (for example asking questions about distilling wine in the
winemaking newsgroup), it may be more appropriate to post in r.c.d instead.
According to the protocol and code of conduct of the usenet, this sort of
FAQ posting is considered entirely acceptable and appopriate, and generally
serves the interests of all the members of the crossposted newsgroups.
