On the subject of menstral products, I was telling my DH this story
yesterday.

My mom loved to eat grapefruit. She peeled and removed the membrane of
each section. Because of the mess, she did this over a piece of
newspaper. When she was done, she waded up the paper and threw it in the
garbage can.

She also had fibroid tumors and bled heavily during her period. She
would take newspaper into the bathroom and come out with a bundle of
newspaper that actually held the used pads, but looked to this little
girl like the wrappings around the grapefruit peelings. I really
believed my mom went into the bathroom and closed the door to eat
grapefruit.
