I use the regular paper filters because they're made for brewing coffee.
Costco sells a bag of several thousand for dirt cheap. Paper towels are
probably not made for a soak in drinking water but they work fine as a
coffee filter - well, the cheap ones do anyway. I guess it all depends
on how desperate you are to have a cup.
