When Angela was a newborn, I took her to the grocery store with me to buy a
few things. I had fed and diapered her before we left.

In the store she began screaming unless I picked her up and held her. I
didn't have one of those strap on things. We did own one but I never got
the hand of it. My husband did use it a little bit. I don't think it would
have fit me anyway. It was a thing where the baby sat upright in the front
and I had big boobs until I quit breastfeeding.

As you can imagine it was hard to push the cart, hold the baby and grab
things off the shelves. All these people kept stopping me, telling me what
to do. Feed her! Change her! Change her clothes! Put a hat on her! Burp
her!

I just remember blasting through the store, grabbing what I could and
tossing it in the cart, hoping it would be the right combination of things
to make a few meals from.

Of course as soon as we got home she stopped crying. I never did figure out
what it was.
