I have never eaten a soft boiled egg nor would I. Maybe they are common
elsewhere? I don't think they are common here. At least I've never heard
of anyone eating them.

My brother used to eat fried eggs with runny yolks. He would dip his toast
in them. It would gag me to watch. I never really liked eggs but if I had
to eat them they would have to be fried to a crisp or hard cooked.
