Profit is all, as usual! There was an article in yesterday's New York
Times about the scarcity of relatively cheap generic cancer drugs, which
are not being made because the manufacturers consider the profits
inadequate. Extremely expensive (and less effective) patented treatments
are being prescribed nowadays.
