I was never a fan of Amorosos myself, but we had Vecchione in the
neighborhood. A far superior roll. A good cheesesteak is a thing of beauty,
but it is getting very elusive. Many shops in Philly seem to be cutting
corners compared to 30 years ago. Here in New England, I can get a decent
steak at Papa Gino's, a chained based in the Boston area.
Finding good bread of any sort is getting more difficult theses days. I
have to travel 30 miles to get a good loaf of rye bread. Seven miles for
good Italian.
