There is a place a few blocks from here called Pollo A La Brasa.

They cook chicken over a wood fire. I think that is all they do.
After a delivery, their wood pile outside is nearly as large as
their building. Many, many times I have driven past and the smell
of wood smoke is generally quite intense.
It's rather pleasant, actually, driving by, but I think I would hate
to live in the apartments across the street. But the place is in
Gardena on the west side of the street, and the east (downwind) side
of the street is Los Angeles, so perhaps the people living there
have no say over things.
