As for the car being parked outside.... My husband can work just as
easily from home as in the office. During an emergency he will be in his
study with his laptop and Blackberry and can be working with users all over
the world!! It is a shame when plans are spoiled, but one shouldn't look
for the worst possible explantion. It seems to me that if the reason was
that he didn't want to attend, he wouldn't make the plans to do so in the
first place.
