The $100 model I referred to is not digital. I just realized that. It
appears they all have the same infrared heating element.

Hunk of junk or not, what I find offensive is the fairground marketing. An
infrared broiling element above the steak is used in many steak houses, and
the right product would probably be interesting to have at home, depending
on how and what you cook.

I think, however, that it's very foolish to buy a product this important, in
your kitchen, from a huckstering TV ad. You have to be able to see it in the
flesh, try it at home, and return it if it doesn't do what you had hoped it
would.
