The back yard gardener can grow brussels sprouts most anywhere but
not with consistant success... for the typical home gardener
attempting sprouts is more a novelty. Commercially grown sprouts to
be a successful enterprise need very specific conditions, a long
growing season, particular soil, moisture, temperature... most
commercial sprouts farms are located relatively close to foggy sea
coasts; California and Long Island are the major producers.
