I don't get this. I've NEVER "steamed" meat in mine!
Maybe you got a bad one that did not get up to temp.

But, I'm not using Foreman. My first one was, but since then, I
purchase Hamilton Beach. Plenty hot! I replace it when the non-stick
coating wears off too much.
