Yup. A mongoose (probably with youngsters of its own to feed) was our
problem. Before we had the hen house "secured" it got 7 of the youngsters
when they 5-6 weeks old. Anyway, if/when we start over with another bunch
of 4-week old chicks (probably once the older ladies have all gone to
Chicken Heaven) we should be OK.
