Now, there's a thought. I have a 17th century (not a typo - it's 17th
century) longcase clock that wouldn't survive a face plant on the
travertine.

Y'know, there are some extents to which I will not go and this is one
of 'em. The sheer aggravation of childproof latches on a day-to-day
basis would drive me wonky. I might consider it for the cupboard my
grandmother's china is in, but that's about it. Everything else is
replaceable. And insured.
