We spent a couple of weeks in August of 1986 with friends in Kennewick,
WA. I was amazed that we had to sleep under blankets at night and that
we only turned the AC on for the two hours just after noon. I also
enjoyed fishing in the Columbia River and actually catching a silver
salmon. That was the first time I ever ate salmon that didn't come from
a can.
Here in SW Louisiana the temps, with heat index, are at or above 100F
pretty regular. The hot breezes from the Gulf bring lots of humidity
with them, today we're at 100%. If we're lucky we will get some rain
this afternoon and the humidity will actually drop a few points.
