Why?
I don't have space for a new set of dishes and occasionally find ones
that I consider to be visually appealing, and since I cook for two, I
buy two of them with consideration that they'd be good for photography.
What is phony/pretentious about that? It's ART. Food photography is more
difficult than some people think and I find it to be a challenge.
I store said dishes in a separate cabinet from my daily use stuff.
And sometimes I use the blue plastic ones for photography as well. <g>
