Default TN Chateau d'Yquem 1970

The Yquem 1970 has been properly stored since shortly after release.
The fill is in the low neck, and there were no cork or other issues.
The color now is showing some old gold. The wine is quite intense with
a bit of caramel in addition to the typical Yquem fruit. Why this is
not a very top year, such as 1959, 1967, or 1975 lies mainly in less
intensity and complexity. Only someone with very jaded tastes indeed
would find much to fault with it. I do not see any benefit of keeping
it much longer, although it likely will last many more years.
