Crap - drove back last night from LA with a plan to stop @ Costco. Got
there about the time it was closing - Oh well! We had been draining the
fridge & freezer to restock
5 people to feed and nothing or almost nothing in the fridge except some
meat I was defrosting - Hmmm Tri tip beef barley soup.
Diced about 3/4 pound of tri-tip & sautéed in a little evoo. (sautéed my
aunt Petunia - burnt the meat as best I could)
added some celery & a diced onion
Hmmm about 1/4th package of frozen peas & carrots
8 cups + of water
1 package of Lipton Onion soup
probably 1 cup of pearl Barley
Simmer about 1/2 hour
Got out the red wine - the whiskey - made margaritas for the ladies -
Toasted Aunt Pinky - got out the Cheese & Crackers opened a stand by bag of
salad & had a nice dinner of soup, salad cheese & crackers.
