We just finished Rosh Hashanah dinner for 10. I made 2 different briskets,
roasted potatoes, string beans with grated lemon and chopped hazelnuts.
Marci made a carrot soufflé, chicken soup and a fruit salad.

The main brisket came out really great. My therapist passed along the
recipe. It was braised over a bed of caramelized onions and red wine. The
onions and juices were pureed in the blender and the sliced brisket reheated
in the onion puree.

I usually make a second brisket when my step daughter is coming for dinner
as her boyfriend is allergic to onions. I braised the second on in red wine,
beef broth and lots of garlic, sage and rosemary. It was decent.
