Default Bolognese sauce

I'm pretty sure added cream is the typical mark of a bolognese sauce,
but I've heard of some versions not including any dairy. As I understand it,
bolognese is, first and formost, a meat based sauce. Tomatoes, almost
certainly. Geez, I didn't even look at what wiki has to say:

Yep.... a meat sauce. And though it says dairy is optional, that's
what I think of as a true bolognese sauce. A very flavorful red sauce
with some cream in it. I'm starting to get antsy, now.
