Default New juice steamer

The previously discussed steamer has arrived. Delivered by UPS about 6
pm CDST.

It appears to be well-made of stainless steel, all parts fit together
well and the inner and outer surfaces have been well-polished.

I broke it down into its component parts and washed them all well with
hot, soapy water and then rinsed thoroughly. Just in case there was any
machining or production oils still on the pot.

The manual, as expected, is rather sparse with information and is
clearly marked "Made in China." I wasn't expecting anything else so was
not surprised. The manufacturer is Neway Housewares International. The
instructions do give approximate extraction times for various common
vegetables and fruits. Luckily I have other resources to help with this
sort of thing.

Tomorrow I will run a few pounds of pears through the juicer and see
exactly how it works. Thanks to all for their sage advice. This juicer
appears to be made exactly like all the others but was more than US$100
cheaper than the other stainless steel units.
