Genetic modification can be used to increase yield. walmarts standard
practice is to beat suppliers to death and give them a kick in the face
for good measure so they understand who is boss. So if a supplier can
grow a huge likely tasteless fruit that would allow them to make
$0.0001/lb more they will likely do it. And wally has dumbed down
customers who will likely think jumbo tasteless fruit is an extra bonus.
