There is a large one on Maui - Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar, owned by
Alexander and Baldwin who also own Matson Shipping lines.And there is
a small struggling one on Kauai *** & Robinson Sugar) which just
announced it is going out of the sugar business and will be instead,
making ethanol.
In the 60s, my Dad had an opportunity to go to Perth and run a sugar
operation there, but with 4 young kids, he declined. Darn.
