What kind of pans are you using? The cycling of the smoothtops takes
a few times to get used to. I would prefer gas, but my house came
with a whirlpool smoothtop. No gas in the house so we had to learn
how to use it. We use cast iron and SS with thick disks at least 1/4
inch thick and have no problems. Although many people here use the
traditional older styles with no disk, I'd think they might be a
problem. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be corrected. <g>
