What you have made is a Texas Tommy - sort of. There used
to be a great place called The Cup in Pottstown, PA. They
were originally an ice cream place but added a small dining
room in later years. They served Texas Tommies - a hotdog
stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon and deep-fried. I think
the problem with yours was the baking, rather than deep-frying.
The deep-frying will cook the bacon nicely and it puts a little
crust on the cheese so that it is contained and does not run
out. Boy, I sure miss Texas Tommies. ;-(
