If you are into breadmaking, I wouldn't buy the lower end KA mixer.
However, the Cuisinart is made in China and, although it looks more
powerful, it has no track record. Have you looked at the Viking mixer?
This is apparently being made in the old Kenwood factory and my Kenwood is
still going strong at over 40years old. Soooo, if you just make cakes, the
KA may be the one to buy as you should have no trouble with servicing if it
breaks down.
I agree with Lynn about the food processors as I have a Cuisinart, although
the KA ones look pretty good.
