I have Mom's Osterizer blender. Probably 30 years old.

It has 10 speeds (?) (as a row of push buttons). I just guess what speed.
It's VERY noisy. Probably could use some lubrication somewhere after so
long. I hardly use it anymore. It resides on a shelf in the stockroom with
other kitchen "overflow" stuff.

My BIL + Sis-in-Law came back from a food show and BIL was ga-ga over the
Vitamix blender, to the point of drooling.

I bought him one for his birthday and he just about had a heart attack from
too much happiness.

Vitamix has a website but the video demos are 90% talk and 10% action.
Pretty lame, imho.
