You might try the following:

Right Click on the Mastercook Icon on your desktop.
Left click on Properties.
Click on the compatibility Tab
There is a box
[ ] Run this program in compatibility more.
Click on that box and try an earlier version of Windows.

You can always switch back.

I run some Windows 98 utilities on Vista in this manner.
