This is what happens when you live in a state with a regressive tax
structure, i.e., no income tax. That includes my former domicile of
Texas, where calling someone a socialist could get you shot by a
legally-carried concealed weapon. It also includes my current domicile
of Washington, where (at least in my neighborhood) calling someone a
socialist could get you invited to their next meeting and vegan potluck
(OB food).
