I've told you before, sf, you don't have to have a gmail account to use
Google Groups. I've never had a gmail address. I used to use Google Groups
when I was travelling and that was the only way to access rfc from a hotel.
The two aren't twined together. You do have to have a Google *account*,
which is a totally different thing from a gmail or googlegroups email
address.
