I have two Mac Minis. They do everything I want and they were cheap.
You aren't going to save much money by buying something else.

Microsoft is a ripoff. That's how they got their start, and they've
never stopped. They've gotten rich and famous by never underestimating
the stupidity of their customers. Vista is a ripoff even if you get it
for free.
