I grew some jicamas one year, damned things got big as a pumpkin. I
didn't know you were supposed to dig them up when they were baseball
size. They weren't as bad as the Chinese yams I grew, like trying to dig
up a baseball bat buried vertically. I'm sticking with ordinary veggies
now, they're easier to handle.
