I don't have rodents in the house, fortunately, but was getting close.

Hence the 6K rock wall.

I cashed in emergency funds (investment capital) to take care of it. I
did not wish to go any deeper into credit debt nor refinance.

I've only 3 years left on this morgage!

I will have to pay income taxes on that 6k, but it was necessary.
