TN: Pigato, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and rose Lambrusco
I'd only consider the Leistenberg Kabinett a ''weaker'' link in the
Donnhoff lineup when relative to the other wines in his lineup. On its
own the Leistenberg makes some stunning wines - but it just seems to
pale in contrast with Brucke, Hermannshohle, Felsenberg, Kirschheck,
Krotenpfuhl, Kupfergrube and Dellchen (then again, that also happens
to a whole lot of other fine Rieslings).
Glad you enjoyed the 07. Although given the pricing on that (and a lot
of the other 07 Donnhoffs), I may probably have to pass. Not a great
loss though, I've got a bottle of the '02 Leistenberg Kab in my cellar
and I'm of the opinion that the 02s are starting to drink really well
now.
