Batshit refers to rationality. Looking at the thread trees I'm going
to delete after I post this you and a few others have lost your minds.
It's not what you say or if you can back it up, but how many times
you've said it in a _cooking_ group. I too get dragged into OT
threads but never 100's of posts.

Obama won. Be happy. Myself and most of my circle of friends didn't
vote for him, but we all seem to be happy for the historic event that
took place. I even went out Wednesday morning to get a paper to put
in the time capsule Louise has been working on for over 30 years. The
city I live in didn't get trashed in the celebration and for that I'm
proud to live in Chicago. I'm also proud to be white. Judging by the
"look" of the crowd we've overcome prejudice far more than I ever
thought I'd see in my lifetime. And judging by the exit polls is
seems we're ahead of some others.

But a few things did sadden me Tuesday night. Actually one that
surprised me was I was bummed I hadn't jumped on a bus and gone to
Grant park. It looked like a pretty friggin good party and it was so
close.

I had two TV's going and jumped between channels. The local cable
channel (CLTV) had a different style of interviews than the rest. The
interviewed "consultants" were mostly young first time voters who had
sucked up a bit to much of the "pixie dust" that mayor Daley had
dropped from the choppers above and they all seemed to think their
life was going to be much better in the morning. Some were so hopped
up they couldn't put a thought together. What saddens me is when they
woke up from the "pixie dust" buzz they realized nothing was different
for them.

You can continue your batshit ranting with 100's of OT posts about how
much you hate Bush and capitalism, but luckily as of Tuesday 47% of us
don't agree with your blanket statements. During the time you and
others are waiting for the magic wand to fix things and your
government check to come the rest of us are scrambling to get our own.

We sold a wonderful house for 75 grand less than it was appraised for
last summer. This year our funds have dropped more than you probably
"make" in a year. Yet you and your type want to take even more of
what we've worked for and give it to someone else? Sorry blake, but
that's batshit.

I could ramble on even more but I see a few food threads that interest
me so I'll catch up with you there if you still read those.
