Tipping the "Obamanomics" Way...

It's down to around $2.65 here (NorCal). The LOWEST I've seen it since
moving here nearly 18 months ago. My "Beast" is a V8 Trailblazer EXT
with a 25.6 gallon tank. Bob and I put 30,000 on that vehicle in one
year alone. He has a car for his commute back and forth to work. We log
a LOT of recreational miles. Any price breaks we get are quite welcome!
I think the highest I paid for gas this summer was $4.91/gal. as I was
traveling from here to Oklahoma. I didn't see a decent price drop till I
stopped in Sedona, AZ. I was THRILLED to get it for $4.19. Actually, I
was coasting into town on fumes (really, I was!) So I would have given
10 times that much just to put fuel in the tank.
It's rather ominous when you are on a twisty two-lane highway in the
mountains, traffic backs up about five miles outside of town because of
construction, the "ding" sounds on the low-fuel gauge with the bright
orange light, and THEN on the radio comes Jackson Browne singing
"Runnin' on Empty." Yes, that really happened.
