Yes. I don't generally subscribe to binary groups, but I just checked, and
subscribed. Don't pay for Usenet, there are much better ways to spend your
money. I paid $4 for teranews, a one-time fee, probably 5-7 years ago. I
keep two free nntp servers in case one is down. There are others that come
and go, too.
